From Oberon's Mom and Dad,

Oberon is a once in a lifetime Golden Retriever.  His loving, happy, loyal, and eager to please personality epitomize everything one could want in a Golden.  Add to that, his stunning good looks, and you know why we believe he is the Perfect Golden.   

Oberon is an AKC Achiever dog, earning titles both in conformation and obedience venues - proving he is smart and beautiful.  That he accomplished this at barely two years old just adds to our belief

he is perfect.

If you come to our house, Oberon will whine in joy!  He will then start barking in joy, and as soon as he hears himself, he runs to pick up a toy because he knows his Mom and Dad don't want him making so much noise, but he cannot contain his unadulterated happiness, so the toy helps remind him that whining is OK, but barking is not.  He will tremble in excitement that he is making a new friend, but will quickly calm down and just stare lovingly at you as if you are the greatest person he has ever met.  When you sit down on our sofa, he will look up at you and slowly wag his tail, waiting for his invitation to sit beside you with his big head in your lap.   As soon as you pat the sofa, up he jumps and he will lay there as long as you let him.  If you stop petting him, you can count on him lifting his front paw up as a reminder. That's it... just a simple paw raised up in the air to remind you he is still there.  If you don't pat the sofa, his feelings will be hurt, but he will walk away and stare lovingly at you from across the room, or will lay on you feet - whichever he thinks is appropriate. 

Wherever Oberon goes, he is told by strangers that he is the most beautiful dog.   His big grin, his wagging tail, and happy attitude just add to  what makes him - Him.  A once in a lifetime, Perfect Golden
